Our History
Continued expansion is expected as we build on our motto: Quality, Honesty, Integrity.
Gary and Richard Volpe founded Volpe Roofing, Inc. now known as Volpe Enterprises, Inc. in 1970, working out of their parents home in Plymouth Township, Montgomery County PA.. At that time, the company's only business came from referrals and it handled only roofing work. In 1974, Gary bought his brother's interest in the company. The following year, the company was incorporated and took out its first yellow page advertisement. When the company started doing siding work in 1977, business expanded rapidly and soon became too large for in home operations and bought its first warehouse.
Continued demand for Volpe's services forced them to move not once, but three more times for additional space between 1977 and present. The company continues to expand successfully completing commercial roofing, office renovations and small construction projects. Now located in a 16,000 square foot building in Worcester Township, the owner has nearly doubled the size of the former establishment in Norristown. Our showroom showcases many different styles of windows and doors as well as color samples of both siding and roofing materials. Continued expansion is expected as we build on our motto: Quality, Honesty, Integrity.
Name Change
Formerly Volpe Roofing now Volpe Enterprises Inc.
With the increasing diversity of the home improvement services provided by Volpe Roofing Inc., we began the process in 2001 to change our name. It has been over 25- years since we have done only roofing.
Our new name is Volpe Enterprises, Inc. Due to the variety and quantity of customers and suppliers as well as the volume of work entailed, we will be making this name change over the course of this year.
The recent project shown in the before and after photos below is a good example of the changes in products and services that have occurred over the years. The original job was for Dormers to be added to the rear of this home. After we had begun the project, the customer changed his mind (a few times), and we ended up completing an entirely new addition to the home.
Key Volpe Team Members
Gary & Janet Volpe -General Manager & President
In 1970, Gary Volpe started Volpe Roofing as he began to work on neighborhood roofs. Gary was still in high school and employed his friends during the weekends and summer months. He quickly formed strong relationships within the neighborhood and word began to travel about his quality of work.
In 1975, Gary formed Volpe Roofing, Incorporated. After graduating from Pierce Junior College with a Bachelor's degree in Business, Gary and his wife Janet continued to grow Volpe Roofing, Inc to included siding, windows, gutters and doors. In 1993, Gary & Janet formed Volpe Enterprises, Inc. to encompass all facets of home renovation. Today, they are the General Manager & President of Volpe Enterprises, Inc. They are members on the panel for Professional Roofer's Advisory Council, members of the Better Business Bureau and Pella Certified Contractors, and maintain a Select Shingle Roofer, 5-Star Contractor and Master Elite status with CertainTeed and GAF.
Michael Volpe - Senior Estimator
In the summer of 1996, Michael Volpe began working in the roofing division for Volpe Enterprises. Michael is the oldest of three sons and studied Business Administrations at Rider University. He held a foreman position leading a crew of four men before his change in responsibilities. In 2007 Michael Volpe was promoted to the Senior Estimator position and is responsible for pricing and creating detailed proposals. Michael currently holds certifications for Versico Roofing, Quality Shingle Wizard Master, Vinyl Siding, Windows and Insulation.
Stephen Volpe - Marketing/Systems Coordinator
In the summer of 1998, Stephen Volpe began working in the siding division of Volpe Enterprises. After graduating in 2004 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Administration from Messiah College, Stephen began working with Volpe Enterprises full time. Stephen Volpe was the foreman of a siding, window & door crew for a year and then he received a promotion into sales. In 2009 Stephen received his new title of Marketing/Systems Coordinator and is responsible for overseeing the sales division, marketing and IT department. Stephen Volpe currently holds certifications for the Vinyl Siding Institute, Quality Shingle Master, Weatherboards, Vinyl Siding, Windows, Insulation, Restoration Millwork and TimberTech Decking.
David Volpe - Production Manager
In the summer of 2002, David Volpe started working in the roofing division of Volpe Enterprises. David graduated at Eastern University in 2008 with a Bachelor's degree in Business Management. After David graduated he made the decision to join the Volpe team as well. In 2010 David Volpe was promoted to Production Manager and is responsible for quality control and productivity of all renovation projects. David maintains qualifications for Quality Shingle Master, Vinyl Siding, Weatherboards, Restoration Millwork, Vinyl & Wood Windows, Insulation and Decking.
John Bonner - Operations Manager
Joining the company in 1980, John has worked his way from siding helper to siding foreman to estimator and since 1995 is the Operations Manager. His extensive technical knowledge and experience enables him to guide each project to a successful completion. He also oversees the daily operations of the installation crews and is responsible for coordinating the day to day work schedule with our clients. John is a member of the Professional Roofer's Advisory Council, a Business Member for the Better Business Bureau. He also maintains qualifications for Quality Shingle Master, Vinyl Siding, Weatherboards, Restoration Millwork, Windows, Insulation and Decking.
